ECE Receptionist Receives “Pride of the Wolfpack” Award

The ECE Department is happy to congratulate Tiffany B. Williams, our departmental receptionist, on her receipt of the College of Engineering's "Pride of the Wolfpack" Award.
Tiffany was recommended for the award for "exceptional service to the College or Unit". The text of ther recommendation made for Tiffany to the awards committee was as follows:
Tiffany came to ECE in late September as a temporary employee who soon became a permanent employee. She serves this huge department in an exceedingly busy position with a tremendous number of interruptions. Never has she been inpatient, less than concerned for the individual with whom she is dealing, or more than willing to do whatever the task requires for successful completion. Although her primary responsibility is as receptionist, she has also proven herself as an administrative support person as a few professors have come to rely on her. Moreover, about a month ago, she was given access to PeopleSoft financials to "occasionally" assign PO numbers for the many senior design projects to avoid the constant stream of interruptions to the bookkeeper. Occasionally is the operative word here. During the past couple of months, ECE had been without an assistant bookkeeper. Tiffany stepped up to the plate to help. Later, the bookkeeper broke her elbow and has been out of work. A department this size doesn’t function very well without the bills being paid, orders being placed, PO’s being issued, etc. Again, Tiffany has "come to the rescue" and learned to pay bills, answer bi-weekly questions, place orders, etc. Never does she say "this isn’t in my job description"; she just says "sure." She does all that she's asked and more, all the while maintaining a friendly and helpful demeanor and never letting her own responsibilities go lacking. This employee has gone "beyond the call of duty" to ensure that ECE and the College is being well served. As such, she well deserves "the Pride of Wolf Pack Award".
