ECE Alumnus to Become Faculty at Purdue University

 Ioannis Papapanagiotou, a Ph.D. alumnus of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NC State University, will join the department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University as a faculty member.

 Ioannis Papapanagiotou, a Ph.D. alumnus of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NC State University, will join the department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University as a faculty member.

Dr. Devetsikiotis, Ph.D. advisor of Ioannis and Director of Graduate
Programs, commented: “In addition to being one of our top students academically, Ioannis also played an important leadership role among our graduate students”.

Ioannis has served as the president of the ECE Graduate Student Association, received twice the Best Paper Award in major IEEE conferences, as well as the prestigious IBM Ph.D. Fellowship, offered to only a few candidates each year internationally. Ioannis defended his thesis, “Design and Optimization of Mobile Aggregation Networks” in 2012, and since then has been working for the Emerging Technology Institute at IBM.
