NCSU: Cyborg cockroaches can aid first responders in disaster situations

Researchers at N.C. State University are changing the way first responders address emergency situations with the help of cyborg cockroaches. Called biobots, the cockroaches are wired with a robotic backpack that allows them to pick up sounds with small microphones and find the source. The biobots transmit the data to first responders.
