Misra Named to DARPA Microsystems Exploratory Council

Congratulations to Veena Misra for being named to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA Microsystems Exploratory Council (MEC) for a three-year term beginning this summer!


The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has named Dr. Veena Misra to the Microsystems Exploratory Council (MEC) for a three-year term beginning this summer. The group brings over 30 of the brightest scientists and engineers together to identify new areas of development in microsystems science and technology and to recommend future possible research directions.

The MEC Group was established by DARPA in 2017 to support its technology offices and provide continuing and independent assessment of the state of advanced microsystem technology as it relates to the U.S. Department of Defense.

Dr. Misra, Distinguished Professor and Director of the ASSIST Center received her bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from NC State. Her research focuses on physical electronics, photonics and magnetics; power electronics and power systems; electronic energy systems packaging; and power semiconductor devices.
