Goali: From Heat to Spin to Electricity: Fundamental Understanding and Development of High-Performance Spin-Driven Thermoelectric Heterostructures

This project aims to develop a materials design strategy using the expertise of NC State University (NCSU) materials scientists and physicists by applying advanced computational and theoretical approaches to design new thermoelectric materials.

This project seeks to develop a new design strategy for thermoelectric materials based on the interactions between conduction electrons and thermal fluctuations of short-range magnetic interactions in paramagnets. Applying advanced computational and theoretical approaches, NC State materials scientists and physicists will join forces to develop this strategy. The goal is to create materials with improved thermoelectric properties.
