More Details

We propose to recruit a faculty member in quantum computing as a joint appointment between the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), and Computer Science (CSC). The new faculty member will benefit from access to state-of-the-art quantum computers through the IBM Q Hub at NC State. The faculty member will be part of a growing cross-disciplinary quantum computing community at NC State involving departments such as Chemistry, Physics, and Materials Science & Engineering as well as ECE and CSC. The faculty member will play an active role in helping to grow this community and in designing and implementing a quantum computing curriculum. We anticipate something close to a 51/49 split in the faculty member’s appointment, with the lead department determined by the best fit.
