Note To Smart Grid: Heal Thyself

Huang is Director of the FREEDM systems center–which stands for Future Renewable Electric Energy Delivery and Management. It’s a National Science Foundation Engineering Research Center involving four universities. They’re developing the FREEDM system, which is a smart grid, but it’s more than that. Mariesa Crow, electrical engineer at Missouri University of Science and Technology, calls it, “…it’s kind of like a smart grid on steroids”.
