Sneha Narasimhan Shines at International Energy Leadership Workshop

Sneha Narasimhan ’25, a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering at NC State, participated in the prestigious EPISTIMI-ACG-LUCE Summer Leadership Workshop in Athens, Greece. Selected as one of 25 graduate students globally, Narasimhan honed her skills in negotiation, mentorship, communication, and ethics, shaping her career goals in the energy sector.

Sneha Narasimhan ’25, a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering at NC State, recently participated in the prestigious EPISTIMI-ACG-LUCE Summer Leadership Workshop held in Athens, Greece. Narasimhan was one of 25 graduate students and postdocs selected globally to join a cohort dedicated to developing future leaders in the energy sector.

“I was honored to be one of 25 graduate students and postdocs selected from around the world to join a cohort focused on developing future leaders in energy,” Narasimhan said. “Over the week from July 15-19, we engaged in a series of group discussions designed to hone our skills in critical areas such as negotiation, mentorship, communication, and ethics.”

Narasimhan highlighted the public speaking workshop and negotiation training as two pivotal experiences. “One of the highlights was a public speaking workshop where we practiced and received feedback on our presentation skills, greatly boosting my confidence,” she shared. “Another memorable moment was the negotiation training, where we learned effective techniques for achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.”

She expressed gratitude for the support from the ECE department and her advisor, Prof. Subhashish Bhattacharya. “Their guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in making this experience both enriching and impactful,” Narasimhan said.

The EPISTIMI-ACG-Luce program significantly influenced Narasimhan’s career goals by emphasizing leadership and ethical decision-making in the energy sector. “This experience has inspired me to pursue roles where I can leverage the skills learned and developed during the workshop,” she noted. “I am more determined than ever to become a leader in the energy industry, committed to making a positive impact and fostering inclusivity in my field.”
