Damir Novosel, president and founder of Quanta Technology, delivered the commencement address at the NC State Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Fall 2025 Graduation Ceremony on December 11, 2025, at Reynolds Coliseum.
Novosel is a nationally recognized leader in power systems engineering and energy infrastructure. He is an adjunct professor at NC State, a member of the National Academy of Engineering and an IEEE Fellow and Life Fellow. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles at Quanta Technology, ABB and KEMA T&D U.S., developed pioneering methods to improve the reliability and resilience of electrical power systems and earned 18 U.S. and international patents.
In his remarks, Novosel reflected on leadership, responsibility and the role engineers play in shaping resilient and secure energy systems, offering guidance to graduates as they begin the next chapter of their careers.
