Nanofabrication Facility Holds Spring Workshop

Matt Zachek, a BME Ph.D. Student, was selected as the Winner of the NNF "Best Presentation" Award of the Spring 2010 NNF Workshop.  Matt’s work was done with Dr. Greg McCarty (UNC/NCSU-BME) and Dr. Mark Wightman (UNC-Chemistry).

Spring 2010 NNF workshop was held in April 21. In addition to talks given by the NNF staff members, six other graduate students presented their research results: Haojun Luo, Casey Kirkpatrick, Shrikant Jayanti, Rebecca Thomas and Patrick Wellenius.

Matt received an iPod Nano for his accomplishment.

The NCSU Nanofabrication Facility (NNF) provides users with a broad range of nanofabrication capabilities to support a diverse set of projects. The facility serves as a melting pot for a community of top-notch researchers from academica, government labs and industry representing a variety of disciplines.

The NCSU Nanofabrication Facility is located in the Larry K. Monteith Engineering Research Center, on North Carolina State University’s Centennial Campus and it occupies a 7400 square feet class 100 and class 1000 cleanroom.
